What to Expect the Day of Your Session
My sessions are very relaxed, I try to keep them fun so you can all relax. The sessions usually run 60-90 minutes so bring snacks for the kids. A favorite toy that will make them happy and comfortable is always helpful and can make a great photo prop. I like to start with some family portraits and some of the more "staged" shots. Once everyone is more comfortable we can go for some of the more candid/lifestyle oriented pictures. I like to let everyone give input — so keep an open mind and see what unique, creative locations your children may pick out.
What Happens Next?
It will take approximately 1-2 weeks for me to develop and edit your photos for your online gallery. I will email you a private link where you will be able to view your session photos and start picking out the pictures you would like to print, etc.
You may order professional lab prints and other items directly through this online gallery.

What to Wear — Comfort is key!
If everyone is feeling good in what they are wearing you are more likely to get some natural photographs that reflect your family’s personality. Layers are great when it gets colder.

Some ideas:
- Find a color palette you like and piece it together with colors that compliment each other
- Warm earthy tones are great. I also like shades of blue, tans and purples
- Try to coordinate without looking too “matchy”
- Try to limit the amount of people wearing something with a pattern to 1 out of 3.
Small patterns (flowers/stripes) do not always show up as well, try polka dots or big stripes - Try to look for clothing that can be timeless, avoid branded shirts/logos
- Bring an extra set of clothes. It is always great to have options. Try a couple tops/outfits to get different looks or have a backup... just in case something gets wet or dirty
- Add accessories to pump it up — hat, scarf or a fun necklace can add a punch. Bright colors in small doses are great
- Props — a favorite toy or item your children love will help them feel relaxed and can mark a special time in your child's life

How to encourage that natural smile?
Sometimes the best shot captures a child’s personality — a frown or complete meltdown can capture a moment that you may end up cherishing.
How to encourage that natural smile?
- It is natural to feel uncomfortable in front of a camera (I still can't stand getting my picture taken). The best thing you as the parent can do is focus on making sure you are looking your best and having a good time when you are in front of the camera (and behind). It is my job to get that natural smile from your children.
Having some snacks and favorite items handy always helps.
